The Young Lions: A Holy Roar Rising

The Young Lions: A Holy Roar Rising

By Pastor Grady — Holy Roar Podcast

There’s a roar rising in this generation — not of rebellion, but of revival. It’s the sound of the young lions waking up. It’s raw. It’s passionate. It’s unpolished, but powerful. And it’s holy.

Psalm 34:10 says,

“The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.”

The young lions are hungry. They’ve tasted the world’s empty promises and found no satisfaction. But something is stirring — a roar of righteousness, a cry for the real presence of God.

They don’t want hype. They want holiness.
They don’t crave fame. They crave fire.
They’re not chasing platforms. They’re chasing presence.

The Hunger of the Young Lions

In the Hebrew, the word “young lions” (kefirim) means strong, bold, untamed energy. That’s this generation — full of zeal, courage, and creative fire. But here’s the truth: zeal without intimacy will always run dry.

David said it plainly — “the young lions do lack.” Why? Because natural strength fades. Self-confidence breaks down. But those who seek the Lord? They never run out.

God is calling these young lions out of performance and into the secret place — into prayer, fasting, worship, and raw communion with Him. This is where their roar becomes anointed.

The Roar of Revival — Then and Now

Every great move of God has had young lions at its center.
Evan Roberts was 26 when the Welsh Revival shook a nation.
William Seymour was in his 30s when Azusa Street erupted in holy fire.
Even the disciples — those fiery fishermen and dreamers — were young men when the Spirit fell at Pentecost.

But here’s the key: they weren’t alone.
Older saints stood behind them, praying, guiding, and believing.

The Welsh Revival had praying mothers.
Azusa Street had intercessors who stayed on their knees for hours.
Every awakening began when the older lions said, “We’ll cover you. We’ll roar with you.”

Revival dies when generations compete.
Revival lives when generations collaborate.

The Call to the Older Generation

To my older lions — the ones who’ve fought battles, buried dreams, and stayed faithful through the storms — we need you.

Your scars are your sermons. Your endurance is our example.
We, the younger, need your wisdom, your discernment, your roar.

Joel 2:28 paints the picture perfectly:

“Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.”

Dreams and visions were meant to walk together — not apart.
We need fathers who dream again and sons who run with those dreams.
We need mothers who pray and daughters who prophesy.

So don’t pull back — lean in.
Adopt a spiritual son or daughter.
Lay hands on them. Fund their calling. Speak life over them.
Because the roar of revival depends on your agreement.

The Charge to the Young Lions

Now to the young lions — hear me: God’s not waiting for you to be “old enough” to use you. He’s waiting for you to be humble enough.

Purity is your platform. Holiness is your microphone.
Don’t crave the stage — crave the secret place.
Don’t chase followers — chase the anointing.

When a lion roars, he’s not trying to impress anyone.
He’s establishing territory.
Every time you pray, every time you preach, every time you sing with fire — you’re marking ground for the Kingdom of God.

The enemy knows the sound of a real roar — that’s why he tries to silence you with fear, shame, and distraction. But it’s time to open your mouth and let it out.

The world doesn’t need another influencer.
It needs intercessors with influence.
It needs young lions who won’t back down.

The Holy Alliance — Unity of the Pride

The enemy’s strategy is simple: divide the generations.
He whispers to the young, “The old don’t understand you.”
And to the old, “The young don’t respect you.”

But God’s building a holy alliance.
The old lions dream again.
The young lions roar again.
And together — we advance.

Malachi 4:6 says,

“He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.”

That’s revival — family, not fame.
That’s the holy roar — unity, not ego.
When the generations come together, Hell trembles.

The Roar Returns

This is the hour of The Young Lions.
They are rising in schools, on campuses, in cities, and online pulpits.
They are burning with the Spirit of holiness, carrying a new sound, and refusing to compromise.

And we — the older lions — must cover them, not crush them.
We must fan their flame, not fear their fire.

Because this next roar won’t just shake church buildings.
It’ll shake nations.

So to every listener, every reader, every believer — young or old:
It’s time to take your place in the pride.
The King of Kings is on the move.
And the roar of revival is about to echo again.

Let the Holy Roar be heard.
